Like buses........

We're always on the look out for bone china.
We like to have an interesting selection for sale at the fayres we do.
We also like to keep boosting the rental stock for parties and weddings.
We haven't had anything "new" for a while.
Treasure hunting today turned out to be VERY productive.
Like buses these gems all came at once.
Four lovely part sets, and some pretty odd pieces, which included four
beautiful milk jugs.
All available for hire, so if you have any celebrations on the horizon
drop us a line.

China storage.

It's been a busy week at Cow & Ghost Towers. Pleased to have some time this evening to put the new shelving into place in the garden room. Some of the china we have to rent out is already in place. It's great to see it finally neatly stored and not in random boxes. Also lovely to look at like this.

Shelves

A busy afternoon at Cow & Ghost Towers.
New shelving to store the bone china we rent out.
It's had a coat of paint. Big plus doing this
in the garden on such a sunny day.

Next step is putting it together............

We've also painted the floor
of the garden room where it's stored and displayed.
Photos of the finished thing will follow
when we finish it

Bone china rental.

Really enjoying this lovely sunny morning.
Spent a cheery hour in the garden workroom
sorting our vintage bone china.
Thought I'd remind everyone we have quite a
collection of miss matched china available for rental.
Enough trios for 100 people.
Also jugs, bowls, glass caked stands and
what my Granny would have called
Bread and butter plates.
We love looking at the different patterns.
Had some fun with cups and the camera.

Tea for two....

What a busy few weeks.
No complaints though. It's been very enjoyable.
A week on holiday and a weekend in the garden.
Back to normal today.
A morning of catching up. Time for a cuppa.
Reminded me of this gem we found on our travels.
A tea for two set by J & G Meakin.
So pretty, and the teapot is such a fun size.
It'll be on our stand at the next few fayres.
More on here about those soon.
Happy Monday.

Garden

Please excuse our absence over the weekend.
Home from our lovely week away and
decided to take advantage of the weather by spending
nearly every daylight hour in the garden.
So relaxing. Enjoying seeing all the vintage bits
we have dotted around out there.
Pots will be next. They're all ready for planting in May,
when all danger of frost has passed.

Holiday - Day 4

Another lovely day thanks to the National Trust.
Today was 'The Vyne' near Baisingstoke.
A gem of a house at the heart of a parkland
style garden.
Jane Austen used to visit for dances.
Could easily imagine her in this beautiful
long gallery observing the "goings on"
to work into her novels.

Holiday - Day 3

Our week away is flying by.
Sissinghurst Castle Gardens today.
Home of Vita Sackville-West.
No photo could do this beautiful place justice.
It's like stepping into days gone by.
The National Trust at its
absolute best.

Holiday - Day 2

A visit to Rye where almost every other shop
is an Antique Shop.
Highlight though, was a visit to the
National Trust's Lamb House.
Home of Henry James and later E F Benson
who used the house and town as Mallards and Tilling
in the Mapp and Lucia novels.
The view from Miss Mapp's very tall front door.
Much as James and Benson would have seen it
all those years ago.

Holiday - Day 1

Cow and Ghost are on holiday for a week.
A visit to the National Trust's Polesden Lacey
in Surrey today. Wow.
Couldn't resist sharing the plumbing!
The bathrooms were installed before The
Great War by the company who fitted out The Ritz.
Sadly the Ritz ripped theirs out in the 1970's,
so these are rare survivors.
Pure style. We love and want the taps.

Sunny Tenby

We're just home from a brilliant day
on the West Wales coast in the pretty
and unique walled town of Tenby.
The Vintage and Craft Market
was hosted by Victoria Lander
who runs a wonderful Vintage shop
in the town called The Shed.

The event was held in a beautiful cobbled
courtyard called Brychan Yard.
Partly outside, and also in the outbuildings
that make up the yard.

We were lucky enough to pitch in the
arched tunnel entrance with doves nesting over head.
They didn't seem to mind us.

Our pitch included this wonderful
disused doorway. Great and quirky way
of displaying things.
We did it in several different ways
through the day.

The beautiful cobbled courtyard.
Very hard to describe how lovely it is.
The sun shone for Easter weekend.
We met lovely people and had
a wonderful and memorable day
Look forward to visiting
again soon.

Easter Baking.

A spot of baking in readiness for the Fayre tomorrow.
We're looking forward to setting up in Brychan Yard, Tenby
for The Shed's Vintage event.
Welsh Cakes are a great favourite, and perfect to
snack on as the day goes by
Lots of lovely sellers with lovely things.
Come along and say hello.
Who knows. If the tin happens to be open,
you may even get a Welsh Cake

Pretty Woman

Jewellery is quite a recent sideline for Cow & Ghost.
We've been delighted with the items we've sourced and sold over the last few months.
We discovered this gem just this week.
In pastel colours it's perfect for Spring and Easter.

We'll be bringing it and other sparkly treasures along to The Shed in Brychan Yard, Tenby on Saturday April 4th.

Look forward to seeing you there.
